Spencer Insurance Agency, Inc. strives to recommend and provide insurance products to our clients that best meets their risk factors in their personal and business lives. The Agency represents top rated competitive carriers. Our goal is to provide an insurance package that reflects the client’s risk that is very competitively priced. While the Agency recognizes that price is an important consideration, it also realizes that our client’s TRUE COSTS can be much higher if they are not properly protected. Your protection and peace of mind is our only business.
Agency History
Spencer Insurance Agency, Inc. was founded in 1963 by Edward F. Spencer. Ed received an appointment from Travelers Insurance at that time. One year later Ed met Walter Hauck who also had received an appointment from Travelers. Ed and Walt decided to share staff and office space although their agency ownership was separate. In 1989 Charles Spencer joined his father’s agency. Charles had spent three years with John Hancock as a life insurance producer and sales manager. In 1994 Charles purchased the agency from Ed and incorporated the agency as Spencer Insurance Agency, Inc. One year later Charles purchased Walter Hauck’s agency and merged it into Spencer Insurance Agency, Inc. In 2001 Charles purchased a small agency owned by William Webster and merged that agency into Spencer Insurance Agency, Inc.
A strong ingredient to our agency’s success has been our excellent staff. We have three customer service reps. Joan Schneider is full time and has been with the agency over 25 years. She has received her CISR certification. Sheila Serianni is a part time customer service rep and has been with the agency over 15 years. Denise fields is our Sales customer Service Representative and has been with the agency for over 9 years. Denise also received her CISR certification. Steve Spencer joined our agency in 1994 and is a commercial and personal lines producer. Steve has several years of training with Aetna Insurance Company. Steve has earned a CIC designation. Charles, the agency principal also specializes in Life, Disability and Long Term Care Insurance. Charles has a CLU certification.
